A Brief History
In September, we launched a new product line called Numbered Formulas in response to Nestle’s decision to discontinue UNDA.
Since then, I’ve been asked many questions about what we’re doing and how we’re doing it.
So, I’m sharing the story in some detail below.
Our Origins
I’ve previously written a little about our history and values. There is one part of the story that I often skip because it predates Professional Formulas, but it’s extraordinarily relevant here: in the early 1980s, before we launched our own brand, we were a Seroyal distributor.
In those early years, everything we knew about homeopathic formulation and production came from Seroyal.
When we established our homeopathic production facility, we adopted Seroyal’s philosophies around ingredient sourcing and processing, production methods and traditions, quality, and formulation. Then, as now, we hand-succuss every ingredient as it is added to the remedy in serial order, and extensively use 1X–6X potencies in our own homeopathic line.
Consolidation and Change
Fast forward to 2011, when Atrium Innovations acquired Seroyal and its three main brands: Genestra, Pharmax and UNDA. Then, in 2017, Atrium Innovations was sold to Nestlé, which took control of the Seroyal brands, Pure Encapsulations, Douglas Labs, Klean Athlete, and a handful of other professional and consumer supplement companies.
Around January 2026, we started hearing from practitioners across the country that UNDA Numbered Compounds would soon be unavailable. We wanted to understand what was happening and why, and we wanted to help, so we contacted Nestlé, Pure Encapsulations, Seroyal, and even the UNDA production facility in Belgium.
We eventually learned the unfortunate truth: Nestlé still holds the exclusive license to distribute UNDA, but intends to discontinue U.S. distribution when its existing stock is depleted. We don’t know whether Nestlé’s decision preceded the bankruptcy and closure of the UNDA production facility in Belgium or was influenced by it.
Either way, under the circumstances, it’s not currently possible to obtain a license to manufacture or distribute UNDA.
Still, we want to support the practitioners who have relied on these formulas for decades, and our unique history and experience put us in an ideal position to step in.
A Way Forward
So, we’re using our own label and brand, but matching the active ingredients, potencies, and inactive ingredients from the original Numbered Compounds.
We started with eight products and are moving quickly to add more in response to demand. In time, we expect to replicate most or all of UNDA’s Numbered Compounds.
I understand just how special UNDA’s Numbered Compounds are. They have been produced with systems and traditions that ensure extraordinary quality at every step, and have earned an incredible reputation for effectiveness through years of successful use. We honor that reputation and understand that these remedies are very difficult to replace.
Having said that, I’m confident in our processes, which are rooted in what we learned from Seroyal decades ago and combine traditional homeopathic techniques with the best of modern quality systems and testing. So, I think you’ll be pleased with our products’ physical/analytical properties, their energetic qualities, and ultimately their effectiveness.
