3 Things To Do In Portland

What to do while you're here for AANP

We’re so excited for you to join your colleagues here in our city. We hope you find some time to experience Portland while you’re here. We’ve put together a simple guide to help you take in all that Portland has to offer. Let us know if we can help you find anything!

❶ EXPLORE

THE BIGGEST LITTLE CITY

Located halfway between Mt. Hood and the Pacific Ocean, our little city offers plenty of places to explore – many of which are less than 10 minutes away. Whether you’re in the mood to discover books or parks, we’ve got you covered.

GO EVERYWHERE

Bike, Hike, Scoot, Tram, Trolley

One of the things that makes Portland great is that it’s easy to get everywhere. As you walk around you’ll probable notice electric scooters on the sidewalks. Download an app and cruise to a coffee shop in “style”. You’ll also notice orange Nike rental bikes all over town (be safe). You can easily hop on the MAX the light rail system or catch a trolley car to explore downtown. One of the best ways to view the city is to walk across the (pedestrian only) Tilikum Bridge and take the OHSU Tram.

GET LOST

A Few Places To See

Now that you can get everywhere, you’ve got things to see! These are some local favorite places, all accessible with just a quick trip within the city.

  • Powell’s Books – The largest independent bookstore in the world!
  • Rose Garden – 10,000 roses bushes with over 650 varieties.
  • Mt Tabor – A beautiful park on top of a volcanic cinder cone in SE (a great local hike).
  • Saturday Market – An open air market on Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Open Sat/Sun!

EAT YOUR HEART OUT

Portland loves to eat. Lucky for you, the Oregon Convention Center is near some of the city’s best food neighborhoods. Incredible bites and drinks are just a quick walk or Uber away. We made a list of some of our favorite spots nearby.

Please join your colleagues and us for a fabulous rooftop party on the eve of AANP. Enjoy great company, local wines, and light snacks – while taking in spectacular views of downtown Portland. We know you’re here for AANP but we want to help you enjoy yourself while you’re visiting.
